Breaking and Entering, Pursuits, and Land Search Incident

MOORESVILLE, NC – On Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 4:22 a.m., Mooresville Police Department

(MPD) received a call about the breaking and entering of vehicles in the Legacy Village

subdivision.

Upon arrival, MPD officers observed four suspects fleeing the scene in a stolen 2018 Audi. The

suspects were pursued by MPD officers until the vehicle became disabled and all four suspects

fled the vehicle on foot into a wooded area of West Wilson Avenue near Hillside Drive.

While officers were in the early stages of a land search, of which the Mooresville Police

Department Special Response Team was activated to assist, three of the four suspects were

observed fleeing the Bradford Glenn subdivision in a stolen 2021 Kia.

The suspects were again pursued by MPD officers until the vehicle crashed while attempting

enter I-77 southbound at Exit 33, at a high rate of speed. All three suspects, who fled the vehicle

on foot were apprehended after a short foot pursuit. All three suspects were found to have

injuries from the crash, were transported to CMC Main, and have been admitted for further

treatment. The fourth suspect, who remained on foot in the wood area of West Wilson Avenue

near Hillside Drive, was apprehended a short time later.

A Mooresville Police Officer sustained a head injury while taking one of the resisting suspects

into custody and was treated and released at CMC Main.

While the investigation into this crime spree is on-going, the suspects have been linked to over

30 motor vehicle breaking and entering's


, the possession of three stolen motor vehicles, and the

larceny of firearms, all of which have been recovered.
