Overnight Shooting Leaves One Dead

MOORESVILLE, NC – Mooresville Police Department (MPD) Detectives are currently

investigating an overnight shooting that resulted in one fatality.

On September 8, 2024, at 11:14 p.m., Mooresville Police Department (MPD) Officers responded

to a Discharge of Firearm call for service at Meadowlark Glen Apartments. Officers arrived on

scene and found Clifton Cornelius Vandiver, 20 of Concord, with multiple gunshot wounds as a

result of what appears to be an altercation between Vandiver and other parties. Vandiver was

transported to Novant Huntersville where he succumbed to his injuries.

MPD Detectives are actively investigating the incident, interviewing witnesses, checking

cameras in the area, and looking for additional evidence at the scene. Additional information
