NCDOT Awards Contract for Long-Awaited Hwy 150 Road Construction Project
Raleigh, NC – Senator Vickie Sawyer (Iredell, North Mecklenburg) along with Town of Mooresville Commissioner and CRTPO Chairwoman, Lisa Qualls are excited to announce that the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) awarded the contract for the much-anticipated highway widening project on Highway 150. At today’s NCDOT Board Meeting, the contract was awarded to Blythe Development, based in Charlotte, NC, for a total of $249,369,373.
Senator Sawyer and Chairwoman Qualls traveled to Raleigh to witness the NCDOT board vote to approve the contract which is the beginning of the highly anticipated project.
“This critical project aims to alleviate congestion and improve safety along one of the region’s most heavily traveled corridors. Our community has long awaited these enhancements, and we are committed to work with NCDOT as they oversee the construction,” commented Senator Vickie Sawyer
Chairwoman Lisa Qualls expressed her gratitude to the NCDOT for their dedication to this project, especially considering the recent challenges posed by Hurricane Helene. “I want to extend my sincerest thanks to the NCDOT Board for their unwavering commitment to our infrastructure, particularly during these difficult times. The damage caused by Hurricane Helene has placed significant constraints on resources, yet NCDOT is honoring their commitment to projects like the Hwy 150 construction,” said Qualls.

The Hwy 150 project is a vital step in our efforts to reduce congestion and improve the quality of life for our residents.
