Burn Ban Lifted within Town Limits of Mooresville
MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Based on the authority given by Chapter 3, Section 307.1.1 of the North Carolina Fire Code, Mooresville Fire-Rescue in conjunction with the NC Forestry Service is lifting the burning ban that prohibits open burning within 100 feet of a structure or anywhere in the town limits effective May 8, 2026, at 8 a.m.
As a reminder, outdoor open burning of yard waste, such as leaves, branches, and plant material, construction materials, lumber, and other products, including trash, newspapers, or other non-vegetative material, is prohibited at all times under Mooresville Municipal Code Section 10-12. Burning in fire pits (commercial or constructed) can resume. The fire department reminds everyone to always use caution anytime open burning occurs.
