Mooresville Man Charged With 18 Counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor
MOORESVILLE, NC – On Friday, December 22, 2023, the Mooresville Police
Department (MPD) received information from the National Center for Missing and
Exploited Children concerning an individual in Mooresville possibly being involved with
the possession and distribution of child pornography. Based on the information, MPD
Detectives, who are also members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force,
began an immediate investigation.
As part of the investigation, a search warrant was executed early on the morning of
Saturday, December 23, 2023, at a residence located on Butler Drive. Numerous
electronic devices were seized, and MPD Detectives conducted forensic examinations of
the suspect’s electronic devices, which revealed evidence of his possession and
distribution of child pornography.
As a result of the investigation, Jonathan Neubauer-Rivera, 34 years-old, of Mooresville,
was charged with five counts of (F) Second-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and
13 counts of (F) Third-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a minor.
On February 21, 2024, Neubauer-Rivera turned himself in at the Mecklenburg County
Sheriff’s Office in Charlotte and placed in the custody of the Mecklenburg County
Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond.
