MPD Searching for Missing Juvenile

MOORESVILLE, NC – Detectives with the Mooresville Police Department (MPD) are asking

for the public’s assistance in locating a missing juvenile. On March 20, 2024, 15-year-old

Hannah LaForge was last seen after being dropped off at school around 7:00 a.m., and she has

not returned home since. Despite the work of law enforcement, she has not yet been located.

LaForge is described as being 5’00” tall, weighing approximately 125 pounds with dark red hair.

LaForge has tattoos of stars on her temple and a heart on her cheek. When last seen, LaForge

was wearing a black sweatshirt, Christmas sweatpants and had a Mooresville High School

(MGSD) bookbag. She may be in the Charlotte, Mooresville, or Lincoln County where she is

known to frequent.

October 28 - Arrest in connection with 38-year-old cold case rape and attempted murder MOORESVILLE, NC

In early September 2022, Mooresville Police Department (MPD) Detectives were asked to assist the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations (NCSBI) on a cold case investigation of a rape and attempted murder that occurred 38 years ago in Missouri. The cold case involved a rape and attempted murder that occurred on March 24, 1984, in Columbia, Missouri. The victim encountered an unknown suspect while walking to work and was abducted at knifepoint. The suspect drove the victim to a dead-end road where the victim was raped. The suspect then attempted to murder the victim and discard the victim’s body in a nearby creek. The victim sustained serious life-threatening injuries but survived. Mooresville Man Charged With 20 Counts of Second-Degree Exploitation of a Minor

  MOORESVILLE, NC – On January 21, 2024, Mooresville Police Department (MPD) Detectives received a tip about inappropriate conduct on social media sites by an adult male, and Detectives began an investigation. The tip indicated that the suspect was using social media sites to attempt to meet with minors for sexual intercourse. The suspect was identified as Michael Dakota Richardson, 21 years old, of Mooresville. When confronted by Detectives, Richardson admitted that he had been trying to arrange a meeting with a minor for the purpose of sexual intercourse. Richardson was arrested and charged with (F) Solicitation of a Minor by Computer to Commit an Unlawful Sexual Act and placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $15,000 secured bond. Richardson posted bond and was released. As part of the investigation, evidence was seized from Richardson’s home and examined by MPD Detectives.
