MOORESVILLE, NC – On August 30, 2025, Mooresville Police Department (MPD) officers responded to a disturbance call on N. Church St. One of the vehicles involved in the disturbance was located on Selma Dr. with four occupants. When officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, it pulled into a residential driveway. Two of the occupants then jumped from the vehicle and ran. One of the occupants was observed to have a handgun in his waistband while running away from the vehicle. After a brief foot pursuit, both individuals were apprehended. One of the individuals was a juvenile. The individual who was observed to be in possession of a firearm was later identified as Sirron Cordell Phiffer, 20, of Kings Mountain. MPD K-9 responded to the scene and conducted an article search of the immediate area where Phiffer was apprehended. A firearm was subsequently located. MOORESVILLE, NC – On August 2, 2025, Mooresville Police officers responded to a call for service at 132 Meadow Hill Cir. for a welfare check. The caller, Stephen Johnson, stated that a female acquaintance was at this location, and he wanted officers to check on her safety. The female was located by officers and had visible signs of being assaulted.  While first responders were on scene providing assistance to the female, a second call for service was received regarding a disturbance at 429 E. Plaza Dr. in which one party was threatening another with a handgun. Officers arrived on scene and located two individuals, Stephen Christopher Johnson, who was the original caller in the first incident, and Brett Patrick Moir. MOORESVILLE, NC – On July 24, 2025, Mooresville Police Department (MPD) officers received a call about an active vehicle fire. Upon further investigation by responding officers and the Mooresville Fire-Rescue fire marshal, it was determined the vehicle was intentionally set on fire by Clayton Morrison Broyhill, 27, of Mooresville. A victim was inside the vehicle at the time the fire was set but was able to exit the vehicle without serious injury. Warrants were subsequently obtained for Broyhill’s arrest.   On July 28, 2025, MPD detectives and the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force attempted to serve these arrest warrants on Clayton Broyhill after confirming his location. Detectives and Marshals attempted to call Broyhill out of the residence, but he refused to comply and exit the residence. MOORESVILLE, NC – On July 24, 2025, Mooresville Police Department (MPD) officers responded to a possible kidnapping of a 4-year-old child. Officers determined that the child was in the Iredell County Department of Social Services' custody but was staying with a relative when the child’s mother, Haley Ervin, 30, of Mooresville, went to the relative’s residence and took the child without permission. On July 25, 2025, MPD detectives, with the assistance of the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, served a search warrant at an address in Rowan County. Haley Ervin and the child were located at the residence. Ervin was arrested for First Degree Kidnapping and was transported to Iredell County Jail and held on no bond. The child was returned to the custody of the Iredell County Department of Social Services.

MOORESVILLE, NC – On July 24, 2025, at 3:41a.m., Mooresville Police Department received a call for service for a welfare check regarding a male on the side of the roadway on Charlotte Hwy. Mooresville Police Department officers located Tylor Scott Perry, 28, of Mooresville unconscious on the shoulder of Charlotte Hwy.      During the encounter, officers located a handgun concealed on Perry’s person and he was arrested. During the arrest, he was found in possession of approximately 30 grams of Methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia. Perry was charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Schedule II-Controlled Substance, Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon, Carry of a Concealed Weapon, and other controlled substance violations. He was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where he received no bond.

MOORESVILLE, NC – On July 21, 2025, Mooresville Police Department officers received an automated license plate reader notification for a stolen motor vehicle. They located the stolen vehicle, and a traffic stop was attempted but the vehicle failed to stop. The vehicle fled south on Williamson Rd to I-77 and Mooresville Police Officers pursued. Officers utilized tire deflation devices to successfully deflate both passenger side tires on I-77 near Exit 31. The vehicle exited the interstate at Exit 30 and came to rest at an apartment complex just west of the exit in Davidson. Four suspects fled the vehicle on foot, but two were apprehended almost immediately. Several local agencies, including NC State Highway Patrol, Cornelius Police Department Marine 1 lake patrol boat, Davidson Police Department, as well as Mooresville Fire- Rescue assisted with the perimeter and search. MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Mooresville Police Department Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing juvenile. 17-year-old Shakeya Jones left her Mooresville residence and did not return. Her father subsequently reported her missing and despite the work of detectives, she has not yet been located.  Jones, pictured below, is described as 5’2” in height and weighing approximately 135 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. She has scars on the side of her neck, left shoulder, and lower back. MOORESVILLE, N.C. – On May 16, 2025, Mooresville Police Department received a call for shots being fired in the area of Lookout Point Place. The caller stated that people were shooting outside of their residence. Occupants of a Dodge Charger were exchanging gunfire with individuals on foot. Officers responded to the scene, and while they were arriving, a Dodge Charger was seen leaving the area. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and two firearms were located. Three male occupants were in the Dodge Charger and were arrested on the following charges: Brandon Samir Adams, 18, Discharging a firearm in city limits and Possession of Marijuana; Ja`Cory Dashawn Kirkland,19, Discharging a firearm in city limits; Justin Smith Davidson, 20, Discharging a firearm in city limits, Possession of drug paraphernalia, and Felony possession of Marijuana.
